The Surface Reactivity and Catalysis Group (SURCAT) is one of the UUÂãÁÄÖ±²¥'s many Interest Groups. The Interest Groups are member driven groups which exist to benefit UUÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ members, and the wider chemical science community, in line with the UUÂãÁÄÖ±²¥'s strategy and charter.
Aims
To represent those with interests, experimental or theoretical, directed towards reaction processes involving solid surfaces, and especially chemisorption and heterogeneous catalysis.
Activities
The Group holds a number of events including an annual symposium covering all areas of heterogeneous catalysis and related fields. We particularly support younger members through, for instance, graduate student meetings and by providing bursaries to attend selected international conferences.
