For those of you who recall the Summer UUÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ HE Chemistry Teaching Network Meeting which took place during ViCEPHEC in Durham, the event focussed on our community - with many Chemistry Educators sharing their research interests (among other fabulous things!). The Winter meeting will follow on from that, by bringing together Chemistry Educators specifically to kickstart collaborative chemical education research projects.
During the event, participants will identify research areas and shared interests in educational development, find potential collaborators they want to work with, and start to design research questions and projects.
Venue: King's College London, Waterloo Campus and online. Further details/joining instructions will be sent to registrants closer to the event.
Agenda for the Day:
11:00 -11:30 - Arrival and refreshments
11:30 - 12:30 - Ice-breaker, identifying research areas and mutual interests in educational development, and creating sub-groups
12:30 -13:30 - Lunch
13:30 - 14:30 - In research interest sub-groups - identifying research questions, possible collaborations and recommending publications/people to contact.
14:30 - 16:00 - In research interest sub-groups - for proposed research questions, discuss data that would need to be collected, EDI considerations, ethical considerations and approval, logistics of inter-institution collaboration, resources needed, etc.
16:00-16:30 - Introduction to LSERC and REISE, plus Q&A to finish.
The event will be hybrid to maximise accessibility.
