Schools Analyst Competition SE Region Heat 2

21 March 2018 09:00-17:00, Chatham, United Kingdom

Introduction
The aim of the day is to promote awareness of chemistry, in particular analytical chemistry.

The work set will contain some instrumental analysis and experiments that the students will be familiar with (titrations).  It is not a requirement for teachers to be present as there will be supervision on the day however, any teachers who wish to come along will be very welcome.  Teachers in attendance will, of course, not be able to help their team in the competition.  The competition will be run during school hours and will last most of the day.  Lunch will be subsidised by the UUÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ of Chemistry.

Eligibility to participate in the final: first year sixth form students studying AS level Chemistry or equivalent (i.e. Year 12 in England); typically aged 16-17 years old. Failure to comply will result in your team’s removal from the competition.

The winners of each heat will receive a small prize, a certificate and an expenses paid trip (for the team and an accompanying teacher) to the national final at Bangor University on
Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 June 2018.
