Regulatory Science in 2016: Shaping the Future of Biological Medicines

17 - 18 May 2016, London, United Kingdom

Introduction
The symposium will provide a unique platform for cross-collaboration and discussion between industry, public sector, academia and regulators and focus on the latest thinking and opportunities arising from the new Biological Medicines. The goal is to identify potential solutions, future work programmes and productive collaborations that overcome the key regulatory challenges and facilitate accelerated access to safe and effective biologicals. There will also be the opportunity to pose questions, participate in technical discussions and to network with peers. The symposium networking dinner (included in ticket prices) will be held on the evening of the 17 May 2016.

Biologicals represent some of the most important new medicines. They improve global health by preventing or providing novel treatments for the full spectrum of disease. With continued advancements in medical research and medical technology, the biological medicines sector face new challenges - not just scientific and regulatory.

The National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC) is a global leader in the field of biological standardisation. It is responsible for developing and producing over 90% of the International Standards in use around the world that assure the quality of biological medicines. Our challenge for the 21st Century is to encourage and support innovation of biological products, whilst, at the same time, ensuring high levels of safety and quality.

NIBSC will continue its rich tradition of melding strong scientific research, with shaping innovative regulation that ensure timely access to safe and effective biological products.

The event will be held at The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
