We believe that everyone working in the chemical sciences should have access to the events they need to advance their career and thrive. Our funding exists to support you throughout your chemical science journey, helping to alleviate financial challenges or accessibility issues.
Discover the funding you need to take part in our events, whether you want to present work at conferences, develop new skills or spark connections that could lead to exciting collaborations.
I have carer responsibilities – what grants am I eligible for?
We understand it can sometimes be difficult to balance your caring responsibilities alongside your scientific career. With Grants for Carers, you can apply for up to £1,000 a year to pay for care that you would usually provide yourself, enabling you to attend a chemistry-related meeting, conference, workshop or professional development event. This money would be used to cover any additional costs you incur while paying for care you usually provide yourself, including extra home help, nursing or additional medical care for dependants.
I’m a researcher – can I apply for grants to support my career development?
Our Researcher Development Grants are perfect for PhD students or postdoctoral researchers based in either higher education or research institution.
With this grant, you have access to up to £500. The money can go towards activities that develop your skills and experience as a researcher or cover the registration fees for virtual conferences. We welcome applications for a broad range of activities, such as training courses, networking and conventions.
Can I apply for funding to reduce accessibility challenges?
We understand how important it is to make the chemical sciences as accessible as possible for everyone. That’s why we offer Accessibility Grants for individuals with disabilities and ongoing health conditions to help with extra costs and financial challenges.
You can apply for up to £1,000 a year to help with the costs of specific support to help attend chemistry-related meetings, conferences, workshops or professional development events. The grant can also be used to help fund equipment, services or other personal expenses to meet your access needs.
