The Porous Materials Group (PMG) is one of the UUÂãÁÄÖ±²¥'s many Interest Groups. The Interest Groups are member driven groups which exist to benefit UUÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ members, and the wider chemical science community, in line with the UUÂãÁÄÖ±²¥'s strategy and charter.
Aims
The Porous Materials Group was formed in late 2018, and aims to bring together scientists from all career stages involved in research into porous materials, from metal-organic frameworks and zeolites to porous polymers and organic molecules. The group aims to foster links between academic research and commercial utility in this burgeoning area of science, and enable the development of an active community based around shared interests and knowledge.
Activities
The group currently organises the annual UK Porous Materials Conference. As the group develops we hope to provide more opportunities for members to meet, network, and develop their careers in porous materials science.
There is a weekly webinar held, sponsored by Hiden Isochema, typically on Tuesday 9am BST. Please see our Twitter feed, @UUÂãÁÄÖ±²¥_PorMAT, for details on speakers and registration and follow us for regular updates.
Meetings
In 2021, we will organise a parallel session of FEZA2021, to be held in Brighton, July 2021.This has been rescheduled from July 2020 due to COVID-19 and is now an
Abstract submission will open in late February 2021. The Interest Group is offering bursaries to allow free registration. Please download and fill out the application form, save it as a PDF with your full name in the filename and return it to the Treasurer by email.
How to Join
UUÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ members can join the Porous Materials Group by updating their details in the “My communities and subscriptions” tab of the online UUÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ membership area. Please .
