• The University of Ulster at Coleraine is holding an event for local schools in the morning on Wednesday 11th November 2009 to celebrate Chemistry week.
The target age group for the event will consist of Year 9 pupils (KS3 aged 13-14 years).
1. Keynote lecture
An "exciting” 1-hour lecture with a chemistry / food” theme will be devised and presented by Dr. Paul Hagan (Chemist), assisted by Dr. Gerard O'Brien.
2. Manned exhibition:
A series of stalls will be organised with themes such as "magnetism” of breakfast cereals / chemical basis of scents & flavours / food safety / vegetable dyes to "recycle” old clothes
