Cinema has been around since the late 1890’s entertaining people with moving pictures. Film has been used to capture historical moments such as both world wars and stories such as journey to the moon by Georges Méliès. Unfortunately historical films have been stored in poor environments which then cause these valuable pieces of history to be lost. This talk will give an insight into the science behind how film is preserved for ourselves and future generation
