EFASIG, a special interest group within the British Mass Spectrometry Society, will hold a meeting during WWEM 2016 in which speakers will address a variety of subjects within an environmental and food analysis theme. The keynote presentation with be given by Prof. Dr. Peter Tranchida from the University of Messina in Italy. His research activities are focused mainly on the study of complex food samples by using advanced chromatography processes, such as fast and very-fast gas chromatographic systems. Prof. Tranchida has co-authored of over 100 publications and 20 book chapters,
The presentations will focus on the analysis of water and wastewater, but will include the analysis of liquid, liquid/solid mixtures and air samples.
With speakers from academia, commercial laboratories and manufacturers the morning session will address aspects of comprehensive Chromatography Mass Spectrometry, and the afternoon session will address the application of Chromatography Mass Spectrometry to water and environmental matrices.
Summarising, EFASIG Leader Dr Peter Baugh says: “We have managed to assemble a group of eminent and highly respected speakers, so this meeting will be of great value to anyone involved in environmental analysis. This meeting will be free to attend for anyone that has pre-registered to attend the WWEM event.â€
