Cockermouth Civic Trust are organising a John Dalton anniversary weekend as part of Heritage Open Days in early September, (8th to 11th). To date this will include:
- a lecture on John Dalton on the Friday evening, 7.30pm, by Thomas Smith. (Kirkgate Centre)
- an exhibition on John Dalton on the Friday eve & Saturday - drawn from the summer exhibition.
- two organised walks from Cockermouth to Eaglesfield along the first section of the John Dalton Way on the Saturday.
- return bus service from Eaglesfield to Cockermouth on the Saturday, provided by Workington Transport Heritage Group
- refreshments & a small exhibition in the Eaglesfield Village Hall, organised by the Village Hall Committee.
- a self guided walk through Eaglesfield on the Saturday featuring Eaglesfield at the time of John Dalton.
